Meta What?

E-mail Print PDF

The meta data on your listing page is used by search engines (such as Google) to figure out what
your page is all about.  If you are a place of worship, then words like church or temple, congregation, Sunday school, and Mass or Service schedule are all ideas of some key words that people may use to do a search if they were looking to find an organization like yours.

Your meta description is a couple of sentences, no more than 160 characters in length, that allows search engines to understand what your listing is all about.  It displays when your listing shows up in a search result.  You should keep it simple, and don't repeat the title of your page.  For more information see the screen shot below for what shows up in a Seek And Find Google search using the words: Seek And Find Church. One search result is a listing of some of our church customers and two results are pages explaining Seek And Find.  You can see the meta descriptions for each page under the underlined page title.
